The Opening Theme song, also known as Deep in My Heart, was created for the Cybersix animated series. It plays before the start of each episode.

The lyrics to the song was written by Robert Olivier, composed by Robbi Finkel, and vocal performance by Coral Egan for the English version, Claude Lombard for the French dub, and (currently) unknown singer for the Latin American Spanish dub. It is likely that the other dubs did not perform the Opening Theme song, rather, they would have used the English or instrumental version.

There is a full three minute version of the Opening Theme. However, there are currently no plans for its release [1].

Lyrics[]

There's a time when the moon reveals its face through the clouds

I let out a sigh and want to cry out loud

But deep in my heart I feel love so alive

In the depths of my soul I know we will survive

I'm the one they would break in their greed and their pride

But deep in my heart I feel love so alive

In the depths of my soul I know we will survive

CYBERSIX

En la noche vivirá,

bajo estrellas nacerá.

Una sombra y una luz,

en la vasta oscuridad.

Siente en su alma

un amor tan vital,

un amor tan intenso,

una fuerza sin igual.

Un valor tan real,

una fe inmortal.

Siente en su alma

un amor tan vital,

un amor tan intenso,

una fuerza sin igual.

CYBERSIX

Voici l'heure où la lune surgit entre les nuages

Je voudrais crier pour dompter les orages

Mon coeur brûle encore d'un amour si profond

Et mon âme toute entière sait que nous survivrons

Ils voudraient me briser

Par envie, par fierté

Mais mon coeur brûle encore d'un amour si profond

Et mon âme toute entière sait que nous survivrons

Cybersix Opening Theme US FoxKids Version

The Fox Kids version

The US television channel, Fox Kids, had heavily edited the original 61 second Opening Theme song down to 31 seconds. Their edit had omitted the last three verses, the final line had different vocals which may be a different take exclusively for Fox Kids or was from the unreleased 3 minute version. Clips from the TMS Sample such as the cafe scene and green embryo, and the violent fighting scenes, were omitted. In their place they had included clips from various episodes which had been sped up[2]. What's interesting to note is that a forum user has said that the clip of Cybersix zipping up the front of her suit was removed in the episode itself, possibly for being too suggestive[3], however this clip remains on the Fox Kids Opening Theme version.

There have been a few misconceptions about the Fox Kids opening, such as that the video was cut to 10-15 seconds, the audio was sped up, and contained different vocals[4][5].

Trivia[]

  • The first line of the Spanish version, "En la noche vivirá", is similar to the title of the first weekly comic issue, "Algo en la Noche"
  • Both the Opening and Ending Theme features clips from the TMS Sample.
  • Robbi Finkel has said of the Opening Theme: "we wanted the opening song to be sung in the first person and that it should somehow immediately convey Cybersix's courage and sense of humanity, as well as provide an insight into her emotional dilemma, also broadly describe her perilous circumstances."
  • The Opening Theme also used Finkel's composition of the Cybersix background theme as the basis for the song itself.
  • The show's background music were made before the Opening and Ending Theme songs.
  • The Opening Theme features a scene in the cafe where a man is reading a newspaper in the foreground, he can also be seen in the comics.
  • According to a Reddit post the Theme songs are owned by TMS Entertainment, and a company would need to licence the song themselves to release it[6]
